Customer / Care retention is not typically a direct and conscious focus by the Business. Once acquired, the business's focus is less on retention and much more on the acquisition. Acquiring new market share is so much more costly than retaining existing market share, therefore it makes sense to have a deep constant focus on the market. This includes nurturing the market share a business has already won.



  Vendors / Supplier Asset

It takes one wrong decision when selecting a vendor or supplier to create significant damage. Disrupting a company's supply chain sends a shockwave through the business, its employees and the market. Selecting and growing a relationship with the vendor is not just about the best and lowest price, but about two-way commitment, clear expectations and accountability.

  Strategic Alliance Asset

Building business alliances are like any relationship. It requires constant two-way commitment, clear expectations and accountability.  Even more important are similar values associated with how both parties perceive and deliver "value" to the market. Making hasty decisions by great visions of "profit" due to a potential relationship typically steers business leaders in the wrong direction only to regret this decision and relationship at the end.

Managing People 

Every single transaction that makes up a business's profit and loss occurs because of an "interaction" between individuals. Being able to leverage and utilize the PEOPLE asset is not just common sense but financial sense. MONEY is the outcome of human effort and any investment, business needs a solid return. If the human asset is only growing capital asset a business has (all other non-human assets devalue), would it not make sense to make this a priority investment?

 

Don't allow the management of human resource assets in the business to become a necessary evil of legal and policy compliance. This does not lead to increased revenue and wealth creation for any business.
